Clark Construction Senior Estimator/Planner Garry Myers was a featured speaker at the Capital Area Construction Council luncheon held December 2, 2008. Myers spoke during the program that highlighted the role of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its impact on the construction industry.
Myers, who has spoken nationally on the subject, told attendees how 3D/BIM technology is changing construction through visualization, material quantification, scheduling, and avoidance of building system conflicts during construction.
The luncheon also included representatives from Ledy Design Group, Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation and Avatech Solutions, who each presented 3D modeling projects using various 3D modeling software including Revit, RAM Steel and CIS/2 file conversions.
