Hundreds of dedicated construction professionals showed thousands of young Michigan students they can build a life for themselves with a career in construction. Heidi Hitz, James Kramek, Paul Clark, and Tracie Sherman volunteered time to set up the fair on Monday and also assisted throughout the day on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Mary Kane Butkovich, Garry Myers, Heidi Hitz, and Loic Courard attended the "Celebration of Construction Luncheon" on Wednesday where Kirk Steudle, PE, Director of MDOT, spoke on how the Michigan Department of Transportation will be using its $847-million in road construction stimulus. Students had an opportunity to road test 65 pieces of equipment such as graders, loaders, GPS-guided bulldozers, etc.
