Clark Construction Company announced that Duane Wixson has achieved the status of LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). In order to become a LEED Accredited Professional, Wixson completed training and passed an exam evaluating his understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.
Wixson is currently a Senior Project Manager as part of the Clark team for the new Firekeepers Casino project in Battle Creek, Michigan. He has 18 years of commercial construction experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health; sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. The program is a part of the USGBC.
