Durand Schools Celebrate Completed Facelift

Clark Construction recently completed the renovation of six schools in the Durand School District. The three-year project was funded by a $13.5-million bond, and was primarily used for many basic renovations needed at all of the schools.

"It was a good project and we’re happy that it is completed for the school district," said Ted Ryskamp, Clark Construction Project Director. "The renovations represent a major upgrade for the Durand schools which will create a more positive environment for the students, teachers, administration and the public."

The renovations were spread across all of the buildings in the district, site circulation and safety was improved at each facility, along with lighting, rest room improvements and finish upgrades. The High school also received new roofing, gym renovations, stadium improvements, and many other renewals. In addition to basic renovations, each school made improvements relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act. This included bringing the schools up-to-date by adding handicap ramps, accessible toilet rooms and adding flashing lights to fire alarms to alert the deaf.
