The Madonna University New Science and Media Building has been fully enclosed and remains on schedule for completion in April 2009. The New Science and Media Building, located at 36600 Schoolcraft Road in Livonia, is the University’s first stand-alone building constructed in 40 years.
The 64,000 square-foot New Science and Media Building will include new science classrooms and lab space, state-of-the-art TV and radio production facilities and an open-air gathering area for students.
"We are very pleased with the progress on all fronts," said Mary Kane Butkovich, project director for Clark Construction, which is serving as Construction Manager. “Rough mechanical and electrical is completed, wall finishes and acoustical ceilings are ongoing, and interior painting will start in the next few days.”
Madonna University is seeking LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the project, which would make the New Science and Media Building Livonia’s first green building.
