Forensics Laboratory
The new Forensics Science Laboratory is an 85,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art building that contains seven laboratories (complete DNA, toxicology, latent print, photo analysis, computer crime, polygraph, and firearms) with supporting administrative offices, instrumentation, storage vaults, cold rooms, archives, and crime vehicle garage.
A deionized water system supplies high purity water through a series of cartridges,
carbon filters and an ultraviolet sterilizer. Tempered air is supplied through two built-up air-handling houses located in the penthouse area. Primary electrical service is provided through a tunnel system and a surge suppression system is incorporated for protection of electric and electronic equipment. All areas are monitored through a multiplex fire detection system and the building has a fire sprinkler system throughout.
