Harborside Office Center
Harborside consisted of a new 4-level, 108,000 sq. ft. building to serve as headquarters for SEMCO. The first level is tilt-up precast panels with brick veneer and piers between curtain wall areas. The upper three floors are aluminum curtain wall with metal panels. The office features a light shelf on the interior of the building to reflect light to utilize natural lighting, and also a sun shade on the exterior to shade light at times of day when the light will be intense in areas of the building. Adjacent to the office building is a 3-level, 400-space parking garage.
The project has been registered for LEED™ ("green building") certification by the design firm, Albert Kahn Associates. They are seeking a Silver LEED™ certificate for the project. Clark Construction must coordinate and document many aspects of the project in order to achieve points for LEED™ certification. This includes an on-site waste management plan that resulted in recycling 95% of construction waste.
