Clark Construction Company served as the Construction Manager for this northern Michigan hospital expansion. The 47,000 sq. ft. addition included a new emergency room complex with eight emergency examining rooms, two trauma rooms, and auxiliary areas. Twelve new patient rooms were added, along with four new labor and delivery rooms and a new nursery. Located in a snowbelt along the Lake Michigan shoreline, the hospital also received a new ambulance entrance with heated concrete, new helicopter landing pad with heated aluminum deck, and heated sidewalks.
Your team is working hard to assure that the additions at three different quadrants and renovations in vacated spaces have minimal impact on the day-to-day operations of the hospital.

U-M's East Campus Primary Care facility provides pediatrics, radiology, mammography, family practice, and other outpatient service areas. Clark was initially hired as the General Contractor for the enclosure of the building. As the project progressed, however, Clark was asked to assist in writing bid packages for the interior. This resulted in a unique situation where Clark served as General Contractor for the exterior and Construction Manager for the interior.
